CD Projekt Red Unveils New Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Character

CD Projekt Red's social media manager, Marcin Lukasewski, has provided insights into Weak Kingsley, the first new character introduced for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2. He described Weak as "deeply relatable" due to his older age compared to the usual cast of the series.

"As someone who's recently aged a bit, Weak's character in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 really resonates with me. Can't wait for you all to meet him when you watch the series!" Lukasewski wrote on Twitter. "He's awesome, and for so many reasons!"

Meet Weak Kingsley

The first look at Weak Kingsley came from a video showcased at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The video, provided by CD Projekt Red, teased the new cast by presenting them as silhouettes. Alongside Weak, another character was introduced, simply named D. According to promotional materials, one more character is yet to be revealed.

Lukasewski humorously commented on D's name in another tweet:

"D isn't just the fourth letter of the alphabet. It's also the name of one of the main characters in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2! 😅 Maybe it's the midlife crisis setting in, but should I change my name to M to be as cool as V and D? 😎"

Character Dynamics

Weak Kingsley's character is distinct due to his older age, offering a fresh perspective compared to the show's usual focus on younger protagonists. This unique dynamic adds a new layer to the cast. Meanwhile, D, with their spikey hair and youthful attitude, seems to align more closely with the series' typical age group.

What We Know About Season 2

Details about the upcoming season are still limited. However, it has been confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 will introduce a "different crew and a standalone story set in Night City." Fans can look forward to more announcements on June 29, followed by a dedicated panel at Anime Expo in July.

Release Date

Currently, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 does not have an official release date. Similarly, a release date for the highly anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 has yet to be announced.
