  • New October 2019 Security Updates for Office

    Microsoft released Microsoft Office security updates in October 2019, which includes a total of 14 security updates and four cumulative updates for seven different products, nine of which correct remote code execution errors.

    Customers are strongly encouraged to install them as soon as possible because some of the Microsoft Office security updates released today also fix several critical vulnerabilities.

    To download the current security updates from Microsoft Office, users must click on the appropriate Knowledge Base article in the following table and navigate to the "Download and install the update" section to download. Update packages from the page shown.

    Microsoft also released security updates for the October 2019 patch with notifications and updates for 59 vulnerabilities. Eight of these vulnerabilities were considered critical by Microsoft.

    Five of the 14 Office security updates released today by Microsoft fix five remote code execution vulnerabilities in Office 2016, Office 2013, Office 2010, Excel 2016, Excel 2013, Excel 2010, Office Online, SharePoint Server 2013 and SharePoint Server 2010.

    Microsoft believes that the remote code execution vulnerabilities currently reported are important because attackers can execute arbitrary code and / or commands after successfully exploiting vulnerable Windows devices.
