Monster Hunter Wilds got off to a strong start earlier in 2025, selling 10 million copies in its first month before experiencing a dramatic decline in sales and persistent performance issues on PC. Capcom is now warning players that the impending end of Windows 10 support means three recent Monster Hunter games will no longer be guaranteed to work on the operating system.

In a message posted on Steam, Capcom reminded players that MS will end support for Windows 10 on October 14. Consequently, the publisher stated, “We will no longer guarantee that Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Wilds will run on Windows 10 systems.”

Capcom added that the games will remain playable on Windows 10 after that date. However, future updates to those titles could make them incompatible with Windows 10 machines.

A Capcom executive recently attributed the decline in Monster Hunter Wilds sales to the high price of PS5 consoles. Capcom acknowledged the game’s PC problems in June, and Wilds experienced a surge in players following a subsequent update. Another patch for Monster Hunter Wilds was released last month, but the game’s broader PC issues will not be directly addressed until an update scheduled for this winter.

Meanwhile, Capcom launched a crossover collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy 14 earlier this week. The publisher also teased the return of the elder dragon Gogmazios in December’s Free Title Update 4.
