Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival - Launching October 8

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival is set to launch on October 8 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as recently announced by developer Saber Interactive alongside a new trailer. Considering the packed lineup of major video game releases in September – with titles like Marvel's Wolverine, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Control Resonant – Saber's decision to release in October offers a refreshing change of pace. At the same time, the game promises to deliver an intense and sinister experience, one that might just drag players into the Underworld.

New Trailer and the Hellraiser Experience

The latest red-band trailer for Hellraiser: Revival is available on the game's official website. A word of caution: it’s recommended to watch it on an empty stomach. During the Summer Game Fest 2026, Saber developers revealed that they kept vomit bags on standby during a demo session involving one of the franchise's infamous, grotesque sex scenes. As longtime fans of the series would expect, the franchise’s signature themes of horror and depravity are alive and well. In my preview of the game, it was evident that Saber has taken series creator Clive Barker’s vision seriously, and the new trailer only reinforces this commitment.

Pinhead's Terrifying Promise

"These are experiences like no other," proclaims Pinhead, the franchise's lead Cenobite, in a chilling voiceover performed by the legendary Douglas Bradley. The game doesn’t shy away from pushing boundaries; the trailer teases scenes of graphic horror, including protagonist Aidan enduring unimaginable torment. From blood gushing out of his mouth to his exposed flesh being torn apart by the Cenobites' hooks, the imagery is both grotesque and mesmerizing. The level of detail, from quivering flesh to cascading chunks of muscle, is sure to leave a lasting impression on players.

Familiar Faces from the Hellraiser Universe

Fans of the original Hellraiser movie will be delighted to see the return of iconic characters. Alongside Pinhead, the grotesque Chatterer, the slug-like Butterball, and the unsettling Deep Throat – whose neck is horrifically held open by needles – all make their appearances. The Cenobites, as always, exude an unsettling mix of elegance and terror, embodying the twisted themes of the series.

Gameplay and Story Details

According to Saber’s press release, players will "take on Hell's wretches, deviants, cultists, and its most infernal priests in an unholy war for your immortal soul, all while trying to thwart the sinister plans of the Cenobites." This description teases a dark, action-packed narrative that stays true to the franchise's roots. However, the press release playfully refers to the Cenobites as "wretches," a humorous nod to the franchise’s loyal fanbase who might take exception to such a description of their beloved tormentors.

Pre-Orders and Editions

Pre-orders for Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival will soon begin, with the Standard Edition priced at $39.99. A Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99, will also be available, with details about its contents to be revealed at a later date. For die-hard fans, a $199.99 Collector's Edition is currently available, including the game, an art book, and additional collectibles – perfect for those who have enough space in their personal corner of Hell.
