Frontier Developments, creator of Planet Zoo and Jurassic World Evolution, has signed a deal with Disney to develop a game based on one of Disney’s many entertainment worlds. Several possibilities immediately come to mind. Frontier has extensive experience with theme park and resort management games, while Disney has no shortage of theme parks and resorts. If the result of this partnership is not Disneyland Park Creator, or some variation thereof, I’ll eat Mickey Mouse’s big yellow buttons.

There are, of course, other possibilities. Disney also owns Marvel, Star Wars, and The Simpsons, in keeping with its imperial ambition to control every surviving flicker of the human imagination capable of earning a dime. It is somewhat harder to imagine how Frontier’s management-simulation style might apply to those fictional worlds. They do have theme park attractions associated with them, but those attractions exist within various Disney parks. Still, perhaps Frontier could create Avengers Tower Tycoon, Jabba’s Rancor Arena, or Moe’s Bar Manager.

Whatever the new project may be, it will support “our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises,” according to Frontier Developments CEO Jo Cooke in a press release.

Frontier is already known to be developing a new Planet game that, in an outrageous display of brand heresy, features neither zoos nor roller coasters. It is scheduled for release in fiscal year 2028. Whatever Frontier is creating for Disney, it will not be that game. Beyond that, we can only speculate.
