Frontier Developments Announces Planet Zoo 2

Frontier Developments has officially unveiled Planet Zoo 2, a highly anticipated sequel that introduces flying and aquatic animals, now housed in aviaries and aquariums for the first time in the series.

Release Date and Platforms

This sequel to the beloved zoo simulation game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S starting October 13. The release comes almost seven years after the debut of the original Planet Zoo.

Key Features and Enhancements

Frontier has described Planet Zoo 2 as a "generational leap forward in animation and animal behavior". The game boasts enhanced visuals and a broader focus on conservation efforts, including restoring natural habitats and releasing animals into wildlife reserves.

New Animal Species

The sequel expands its roster of animals to include:

  • Aquatic species: black-tipped reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, and vibrant shoals of fish.
  • Bird species: the toco toucan and the secretary bird.

Zoo Management Challenges

Players will face familiar challenges in balancing the needs of running a successful animal park. This includes ensuring the happiness of guests, staff, and animals, while simultaneously managing finances to keep the park operational.
