Production on the third season of HBO's The Last of Us series is now underway, and videos and images from the set have emerged, showing the characters Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and Lev (Kyriana Kratter).
Filming is taking place in Vancouver, and with some shoots taking place in public places, people took out their phones and starting filming the production. In this video, we see Abby walking across the top of a building, holding a long rifle, surrounded by production crew. Lev can be seen as well, wielding a bow and arrow. Close-up images of Abby and Lev were also snapped from the set.
As in the game, Lev will be depicted in the TV as a 13-year-old transgender boy. Kratter, who is 15 and played breakout character KB in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, is understood to be cisgender. This has prompted discussion and debate.
With Season 3 now in production, it's expected more images, videos, and details will begin to emerge, so anyone concerned about potential spoilers should be extra mindful browsing the internet.
The Last of Us Season 3 will focus on Abby's story, and to that end, Season 3 will feature her father, played by Patrick Wilson. Season 3 could be the show's final run of episodes.
As for the game series, The Last of Us 3 is rumored to be in the works, and Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann recently further fueled speculation about this. In addition, Naughty Dog is working on a new IP called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
